Vassilios is the AHEPA National Cultural Commission Co-Chairperson. He is also a Committee member of the District 6 Hellenic History Tournament. He is currently with the AHEPA Gus Cherevas Estia-Pindus Chapter 326 in Flushing. He is Past Director of Hellenism & Culture and Arts for District 6 (Empire State). He was a Past member of Delphi 25 and Past AHEPA Hermes Chapter 186 Astoria President as well as Vice President and Secretary.

 

Vassilios was voted the distinguished award of AHEPAN of the year 2019 for his contributions to Hellenism and for promoting the values of the order.

The American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) is the largest and oldest American-based, Greek heritage grassroots membership organization. Its scope is international with chapters in the United States, Canada, Greece, and Cyprus, and “sister” chapters in Australia and New Zealand.

Established July 26, 1922, in Atlanta, Georgia in response to the evils of bigotry spearheaded by the KKK and to assist Greek immigrants assimilate into American society. AHEPA joined with the NAACP and B’nai B’rith to combat discrimination.


Today, AHEPA brings the ideals of ancient Greece, which includes philanthropy, education, civic responsibility, and family and individual excellence to the community. Although a majority of the membership is composed of Americans of Greek descent, application for membership is open to anyone who believes in the mission of the organization. The mission of the AHEPA Family is to promote Hellenism, Education, Philanthropy, Civic Responsibility, and Family and Individual Excellence.
